How F1 points work

Grand Prix points go to the top ten finishers: 25, 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1. Sprint races award 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 points to the top eight. The Drivers' Championship is decided by each driver's total, while the Constructors' Championship adds up the points of both cars of every team.

Ties are broken on countback: the driver or team with more wins ranks higher, then more second places, and so on. During a live race, Rerace projects the championship in real time from the running order.

How often are the F1 standings updated?

Official standings refresh automatically shortly after each Grand Prix and Sprint. While a race is running, the live projection shows how the table would look if the race finished in the current order.

How many points does a Grand Prix win give?

A Grand Prix win is worth 25 points. Second place earns 18 and third 15, down to one point for tenth. Sprint winners score 8 points.

How are ties in the championship decided?

Drivers or teams level on points are separated by their number of wins, then second places, third places and so on until the tie is broken.
